The Truth About You

People have good and bad opinions about you. We all just have something to say about someone. I think that's how we have gone ourselves right now. It is the state we live in today, and I fear it becomes worse as each tomorrow comes. Those who support you and are closest to you would say, just shrug it off you're better than what they think of you. Or "Just be yourself". Ah that famous three-worded advise. But is being yourself enough for yourself? It might feel good to hear encouraging words and advise from people, yes, you believe them to be true. But tell me if those bad opinions about you don't stick to your mind and hurt you like you say it so? That not even a drop of negative comment about you ever crossed your mind and say "I think that might be true". That not a doubt comes to you about what others say to you might indeed what you are and who you are. So you try to convince yourself and prove to them that you are not what they say--that you are better than what they see in you. Now are you being "yourself"?

Everything else is a temporary solution, just a momentarily state of happiness. Unless you seek the truth about you and who you were made to be, you fall into the same trap of the world. Unless you seek Him who has made you, you will never know yourself. You can never be yourself if you don't know who you are. Your friends don't know you, the people around, and not even your parents do. Only He who had made you know who you are and who you will become. And that truth of what He says about you? That should be the truth you believe for you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made by God and your identity is in His Son.

13 For you formed my inward parts;
    you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
    Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
    intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
    the days that were formed for me,
    when as yet there was none of them.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
    How vast is the sum of them!
18 If I would count them, they are more than the sand.
    I awake, and I am still with you.

Psalm 139:13-18
